Understanding Material Analysis Documentation
An analysis document supports the agreed material specification. It should be read together with the quotation, drawing and order confirmation rather than treated as a universal warranty statement.
Composition and purity
Confirm whether purity is stated on a metals basis, compound basis or by another agreed calculation. For multicomponent materials, agree the nominal composition and reporting unit.
Trace elements
If a particular impurity affects the process, list it explicitly in the inquiry. A total purity value does not automatically guarantee an individual limit for every element.
Product-specific records
Depending on the agreed supply, supporting records may include dimensions, density, bonding inspection, electrical wafer parameters or surface information. These must be agreed before order.
Nonconformity review
When a customer result differs from supplied documentation, the test method, sampling, calibration and units should be compared before a conformity decision is made.
